5-27-04 Relaunch! As you can see,
I've
revamped and updated the site. Another
completely interactive site with storyboards, concept art, illustration,
and comics samples is in the works, but in the meantime, please call or
email me to see my portfolio. Also, please take note of the new contact
information, as it has changed since the last incarnation of the site.
In other news, I recently completed work
on a commercial with Mark Romanek.
For those of you who aren't familiar with
the name, he is the very talented director
of the film "One Hour Photo" and dozens of music videos for folks like
Johnny Cash, Janet Jackson, and Beck. Thanks to Mark and all the nice folks
at Anonymous Content and
Digital
Domain who worked with me on the spot. It will probably air sometime
in August.
The
Taurus World Stunt Awards '04 featuring Dennis Hopper and Carmen Electra
(Spike TV, May 26, 9pm) opens up with a fun little action sequence. Thanks
to Robert Norris and Mic Rodgers for asking me to board it.
I recently finished up work on a comic
story called "Fly Me to the Moon" featuring my
character, Nora Drenalin, Teen Space Ranger.
It's for a comics anthology masterminded by my brother Benton Jew
called "Babes in Space". Check out
the
website for more info.
The first 24
Hour Comics Day took place April 24, 2004 all over the world. At Earth
2, a comic book store in Sherman Oaks, a dozen or so cartoonists each
took pen to paper on a mission to draw their own 24-page comic within a
continuous 24-hour period. I managed to finish pencilling my opus "Vice",
a tribute to Film Noir and "The
Twilight Zone", but was unable to finish
inking by the 24-hour mark. Still,
I was happy with the results. Perhaps the finished effort will see print
sometime soon.
